Mount Pleasant Cottage occupies an elevated position in the village of Mousehole in Cornwall, just 10 miles from Land's End, the most westerly point on the UK mainland. The house looks over much of Mousehole and the picturesque harbour, which tells of the fishing heritage of this village.
Beyond the harbour is Mounts Bay, where St. Michaels Mount and the nearby town of Penzance can be seen. A regular bus service operates between Mousehole and Penzance, via the neighbouring fishing village of Newlyn.
Penzance is on the A30, the main trunk road through Cornwall and Devon, towards Exeter and London. A train service operates from Penzance rail station to London Paddington. From Penzance, the county town of Truro is some 30 miles away by road and 40 minutes by train.
Broadband is expected to be available in Mousehole from the end of June 2005.
